
The Valley Ouche is on the western side of the hills of the main vine yards of Burgundy. The river Ouche formed the valley which joins the river Saone South East of Dijon.
The river's source at Lusigny sur Ouche is at 379 metres and at Velars 265 metres above sea-level.
The highest summit is at 650 metres above sea-level (approx ).
Mainly limestone, calcaire, the hills have been eroded to form a gentle landscape. The forests contain oak, lime, hornbeam and maple with some pine.
