Description
A charming small market town covers 2978 hectares at 363 metres above sea level for 766 inhabitants. The river passes through the centre and there are numerous bridges and weirs. The town is attractive and active, set in a narrow section of the valley, close to the sources of the river.
To see and do...
The small street climbing up the steep hill to the church should be visited. There are also small mills, wash-houses and some very old houses. No traces remain of the old castle. The very impressive Town Hall dating from the 19th century is in the centre of the town and dominates the market place.
The town also hosts museums about working tools, weaving and ropes.
