Located on the hills over looking the valley, Saint Jean de Boeuf has 1226 hectres of land at 518 metres above sea-level and the right bank of the river. There are numeros vues of the valleyfrom Mont Rognon.
A small village with a couple of farms offering paths to walk through the nearby forest.
During the Second World War a radar was installed by the Germans.
